The distillery has also changed hands numerous times over the years – production halted back in 1981 but resumed under Hiram Walker until 1996, when it was bought and reopened fully by Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy – the current owner. Back in the 1800s, this famous distillery was producing 300,000 gallons of whisky per year, with 60 employees working on site. Nowadays, it produces 40,000 bottles of whisky every week, with six people working in the distillery and three working in the warehouse.
