Tequila is only produced in 5 regions in Mexico - Guanajuato, Michoacán, Nayarit, Tamaulipas, and Jalisco. To be called tequila, the spirit must be derived from at least 51% of the blue agave, a distinctive plant which provides tequila with its fruity, peppery and spicy flavour combination. Despite being more commonly drank in some countries as a ‘shot’ with salt and lime, Tequila is actually traditionally sipped and savored in its home country. In Mexico, Tequila is considered to be subtle, complex and worthy of contemplation. Take the time, pour, sit back and enjoy it for what it really is
