Stolichnaya is a Russian vodka made from wheat and rye grain – though ownership of the brand is under dispute. The long-running argument is between a Russian state-owned company and a private company residing in Luxembourg. The vodka is produced both in Russia and in Latvia, and is known affectionately as ‘Stoli’.
There are dozens of varieties of Stolichnaya, from Stoli Hot (a Japanese-inspired flavour) and Stoli Chocolat Kokonut (chocolate and coconut, of course) to Stolichnaya 80 proof and Stolichaya Elit – a luxurious brand.
