Port Askaig is a mysterious new Scotch whisky that few people in the industry know anything about. Produced exclusively for a UK retailer, there are three bottlings – a Cask Strength, a 17-year-old and a 25-year-old. However, the distillery where these bottlings are produced has not yet been identified, leading to much confusion among whisky enthusiasts.
There are those that believe the bottlings could come from Caol Ita, Lagavulin or Laphroaig, deduced from the tasting notes that accompany the whiskies – but there’s been no official confirmation, so this one is still a closely guarded secret!
