Pronounced ‘kil-ho-man’, this fairly new distillery only began production in June 2005. Situated on the island of Islay, it was the first distillery to be built on the famous whisky-making island for more than a century. The distillery is just one of six Scottish distilleries today that are still producing traditional floor-maltings – and it’s one of the few facilities where all of the malting, distilling, maturing and bottling is carried out on the same island.
The distillery launched the first Islay-only whisky back in 2011, and plans to release 5, 8, 10 and 12 year-old bottlings in the future.
