A beautiful single malt from the always excellent Taiwanese distillery, Kavalan. Podium, which aged in a combination of fresh American virgin oak casks and the distillery’s refill casks, certainly deserves its pedestal, its warm notes of oak, cedar, mango, banana leaf and caramel intoxicating from the off.
