This single malt is matured in two woods, the main maturation is in traditional American Oak Bourbon casks and the whisky is then finished in Oloroso sherry barrels for a few months and each part of the ageing lends different qualities to the resulting whisky - traditional oak softens and adds character, whereas the sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour.

Outstanding Service and Product!
Whiskey World was great. I will order from Whisky World again; it's service was remarkable. Great price, even with the shipping fee, and it took less than 5 days for delivery to Maine. Balvenie Doublewood is one of my favorite Scotch. It's my go to in ordinary circumstances.
