Old Ballantruan’s Peated Malt comes highly recommended. There’s more than peat to behold too, with notes of toffee, dried herbs, barley sugar and toasted cereals all making an appearance. The finish, when it comes, is incredibly smooth, unfurling notes of wood smoke and yet more peat.
