As a distillery, Macallan are quite familiar with bold concepts. And that is something they seem to be trying to prove with Concept No. 1, a limited-edition expression intent on ‘disrupting the whisky making process’. Composed of whiskies matured equally in sherry-seasoned oak then ex-bourbon casks, the golden-amber malt has a gorgeous butterscotch toffee nose and medium sweet finish.
