Laphroaig Select takes its name from the special selection of American and European casks, chosen for their unique character that they give during maturation. Aged in a combination of Olorosso sherry butts, straight American white oak (non-filled with bourbon), PX seasoned hogs heads, Quarter Casks and finally of course First Filled Bourbon Casks. This results in a restrained and toned down version of this Islay classic.
An absolutely wonderful whiskey, excellent either before or very special after dinner night cap.
Clean and crisp with just the right amout of smoky richness. Very enjoyable and loved by all.

Christmas Surprise Bottle !
I purchased this excellent single malt bottle and was pleasantly surprised at the crisp but mellow peaty smoky hue attained from this brand and was not disappointed in the flavour of this fine Islay whisky
