Product Reviews for Fettercairn 12 Year Old
Purchased as a gift which was extremely well received. It is now one of their favourite whiskies
This particular whisky has been purchased as a Xmas gift for my son because he has bought it previously and found it especially to his taste. I know he will be delighted to receive it.
.....but I have tried a number of single malts over the years. By a process of elimination, I have discovered I'm not a fan of peat or smoke, so I avoid whiskies with these words in their descriptions. I prefer ginger, honey and maybe a more chocolatey taste and Fettercairn really delivers for me. The 12-year old is my favourite so far. I have tried the 16-year old but, to be honest, I was confused by the different releases (why are there 4, all apparently 16-year old?) and although the taste was good, I don't think it justified the higher price. If you like a smooth, warming, non-smokey, non-peaty single malt, Fettercairn 12 is lovely.
Both bottle and box arrived in perfect condition. This is my first try of a Fettercairn whisky, it won't be my last.
We bought it for a Father’s Day gift and the person who received it say’s it so the best dram he has ever tasted, must be worth a try .
I'm not a whisky expert but I have tried a lot of entry level single malts over the last few years, among them Laphroaig, Bowmore, Talisker, Dalwhinnie and Penderyn. I have been looking for smooth taste, not too peaty, fruity or smokey with some sweetness.Fettercairn is delicious! It has a touch of honey and a lovely smooth aftertaste, no hint of roughness, very little smoke and its a pleasure to drink. I have one ice cube in it and the flavour develops as the ice melts. Its very easy drinking and the challenge is to make the bottle last. Highly recommended.
