“Amber Nectar” has several interpretations, especially at this time of year. We all immediately think of the viscous qualities of that sweet condiment we call honey. But, of course, we wouldn’t be able to toast the new year, without the other amber nectar: single malt. The Deanston 18 Years Old offers floral, grassy, vanilla, and honey notes with a blend of sweet barley sugar, spicy white pepper, and tart citrus on the palate. The Balblair 12 Years Old provides the other quintessential flavour for Rosh Hashana: apples, alongside pear, layers of honey, and barley. As a digestif, indulge in a glass of the sweet dessert wine from Psagot Prat with its aromas of raisins, dark forest fruits, and dark chocolate. And of course, we haven’t forgotten the amber offerings of the bee: a beautiful honey jar with a dipper and a wooden honey-shaped Simanim guide completes this quintessential Rosh Hashana arrangement.
